DEFENDING champion San Beda University keeps its 'defensive identity' whenever it faces opponents in the NCAA 100 men's basketball tournament.Head coach Yuri Escueta stressed the importance of defense and has a margin of scoring whenever his squad battles inside the arena.'I think our defense was able to hold up. We have a defensive target which is 60 points per game, and we were two points over our target, at least it's on our type of game, which is our defensive identity.
'Our mindset is that whatever happens in the past, we lost to EAC, we lost to Arellano, we won against Letran, we won against whatever, I told them to not think about it, let's just focus in the present, which is the Perpetual game and let's try to beat the aggressors today.'Holding a 5-3 win-loss record, the Red Lions will look to cap Round 1 with a victory as they will have a finals rematch over Mapua University on Tuesday, October 8, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
