The deep hole that was discovered on Sales Road in Pasay City over the weekend has already been covered, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.The almost-10-foot deep hole was located on the eastbound direction of Sales Road between Gates 4 and 2 of Villamor Air Base.The Department of Public Works and Highways said the hole has already been cemented. After the cement has dried, asphalt will be poured over it, according to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.
A busted water pipe of Maynilad Water Services Inc. caused the ground to soften, leading to the incident, authorities said.On Sunday, the hole was initially observed at 6 a.m. as something small with cracks.The small hole quickly developed into a 3-meter crater that was 10-feet deep.The MMDA temporarily closed the affected lane so repairs could be made.Maynilad arrived at around 2 p.m.
