The Salcedo weekend market is in 'full bloom' a week before Valentine's Day. People are flocking in to buy flowers for their beloved, just in time for the special date. More people are choosing to spend their Valentine's Day a week early to avoid the influx of people come Friday. Air Ong, a frequent visitor to Salcedo weekend market, said, 'There are a lot of people today, but I'm glad the vendors are getting more for their business.
'\Even though the market is closed on Valentine's Day, the flower demand increased. Teresa Mendoza, a flower vendor in the Salcedo weekend market, said, 'The demand for flowers is high, and the suppliers are already increasing their prices.' Despite the high demand for flowers, Mendoza said, 'We can't increase the prices because our loyal customers might get disappointed. Never mind the lower income ... Valentine's is celebrated just once a year, so I want to give them that.'\According to the vendor, the Malaysian mums are their bestsellers. Most flowers sold are from Baguio City, but Mendoza said that come Valentine's, the flowers are still fresh. The Salcedo weekend market is open every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m
