THE Rotary Club of Saigon International has elected for the first time a Filipino president, who wishes to have more Filipino s join community work in Vietnam.John Bayarong, 52, a lecturer for the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Ho Chi Minh City, was recently elected president of RCSI.'I want more Filipino s in Vietnam to join the Rotary . I wish more kababayans would take the challenge and lead the clubs,' Bayarong said in a statement.

'They understood that international service organizations are willing to work with them, hand in hand, to support their programs however we can,' he said. In just two years, five clubs were chartered nationwide.RCSI, in its website, said that 'with the chartering of RCSI and its twin club, the Rotary Club of Saigon, Rotary International is now able to maximize support by tapping the assistance of clubs around the world.
