Mereka tiba di perlawanan dengan mendahului 3-0 dari aksi pertama dan tampak cukup selesa selepas kegugupan awal apabila Amir Amri Salleh melakukan rembatan jauh untuk pelawat namun gagal menewaskan Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.Bek kanan Rizal Ghazali menjadi penjaring yang tidak dijangka apabila meletakkan Sabah FC menerusi rembatan jarak jauh dengan melencongkan sepakan percuma yang diambil oleh Saddil Ramdani memasuki gawang pada minit ke-26.
