Heavy fighting continues in east and south of Ukraine; Moscow says Kyiv must accept ‘demilitarisation and denazification’
Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, has said Kyiv must accept Moscow’s demands of “demilitarisation and denazification” or suffer defeat on the battlefield.

In televised remarks he said threats to the security and stability of the Eurasian region were increasing. “Unfortunately challenges and threats in this area, especially from the outside, are only growing each year,” he said. “We also have to acknowledge unfortunately that disagreements also arise between member states of the commonwealth.”
said the Russian president did not offer to negotiate with Ukraine on Saturday, contrary to some reporting.
