A former ambassador has suggested Kevin Rudd should forgo his post-parliamentary pension while receiving a salary in his new position in Washington DC.

“I don’t really think it meets the test of community expectations or the pub test, if you like,” Mr Sharma told Sky News Australia on Wednesday. “I think it would make sense if he was to at least pause receiving his post-parliamentary pension whilst he’s receiving another pay packet from the government.”
