The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board approved a new wage order in Western Visayas for private sector employees and domestic workers. Effective November 17, Wage Order No. RBVI-28 will raise daily wages by PHP 33 to PHP 40 for private sector workers, while domestic workers will receive a monthly boost of PHP 1,000.
Those working in establishments with fewer than 10 employees will see their daily rate rise from PHP 450 to PHP 485. Meanwhile, workers in the agriculture sector will have their minimum wage raised from PHP 440 to PHP 480. This wage hike is expected to directly benefit over 193,000 minimum-wage earners in the region and indirectly impact more than 300,000 workers earning above the minimum wage.
