The Rotary Club of Cebu and Gift of Life International collaborated to provide life-saving surgeries for six children aged 11 months to 7 years old with congenital heart defects. A team of volunteer medical professionals from Manila performed the surgeries at the University of Cebu Medical Center’s CathLab Center on December 2, 2024.

THE Rotary Club of Cebu and Gift of Life International joined forces to give new life to six children aged 11 months to 7 years old, in a pediatric cardiac mission on Dec. 2, 2024. The volunteer medical professionals from Manila, such as Interventional Pediatric Cardiologists Dr. Dexter Eugene D. Cheng, Dr. Louisa Joan G. Go, and Dr. Judah Gozar, Pediatric Cardiologists Dr. Mary Mae Catherine N. Yu, Dr. Cathleen Faye R. Lu, and Thoracocardiovascular Anesthesiologist Dr. Gina O.

The mission, held at the University of Cebu’s Medical Center’s latest and newest CathLab Center, brought hope to the children and their families. Gift of Life Chairman Edward Tan-Ting, UCMed chairman Atty. Augusto Go and other key people from Rotary of Cebu, Rotary of Makati West, and UCMed gathered to witness the first joint collaboration. This collaboration highlights the power of teamwork in making profound differences in people’s lives.
