Former President Rodrigo Duterte has filed his certificate of candidacy to run for mayor of Davao City.According to GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, Duterte filed his COC at the Commission on Elections office in the city.Duterte was the longtime mayor of Davao City before he ran and won the presidency in 2016.His son, incumbent Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, will run for vice mayor. Incumbent Vice Mayor Jay Melchor Quitain will run for councilor.
Paolo Duterte, filed his COC to run for congressman in the second district.The former president served as Davao City mayor from 1988 to 1998, and then again from 2001 to 2010. He was also the mayor for a term from 2013 to 2016 before he won the presidential elections. Earlier in the day, his eldest son Paolo filed his COC for re-election.
