MANILA, Philippines — La Salle coach Topex Robinson finds the new UAAP eligibility rule for transferring student-athletes unfair, saying it limits the freedom of student-athletes to choose, especially when it comes to the academic side of things.

Transferring student-athletes will lose an additional one year of playing eligibility, making it two including their redshirt year as the league announced in a press conference at Novotel in Quezon City on September 4.The new rule is effective this Season 87 or starting the academic year 2024-2025.

Just like me, when I came to college, I enrolled or I stayed on a course that after a few semesters, I realized that it's not what I want. I think, in that aspect, the athlete could not choose anymore. I think education is what is being deprived of.'The new development, however, could not stop the excitement of Robinson and the defending champs Green Archers to go for another title this Season 87.'Mr.
