Risa Sato, the former Creamline Cool Smashers star, has signed with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the PVL. With her 10-time championship experience, Sato aims to bolster the Crossovers' frontline and contribute to their title aspirations.
Former Creamline Cool Smashers star middle blocker Risa Sato has joined the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the Premier Volleyball League ( PVL ) for the remainder of the 2025 All-Filipino Conference. Sato's contract with Creamline was terminated prior to the new conference, making her immediately eligible to play for her new team. Chery Tiggo's next match is on Tuesday, January 21st, against Petro Gazz.
Sato is expected to be a significant reinforcement for Chery Tiggo's veteran-heavy frontline, which includes Aby Marano, Pauline Gaston, Cza Carandang, and the returning Imee Hernandez. During her time with Creamline, Sato saw limited playing time as the team favored Bea de Leon and Pangs Panaga in the middle blocking positions. Now, with Sato on board, head coach Norman Miguel has more flexibility to experiment with his lineup. This could involve moving Gaston to her natural winger position alongside Ara Galang, Cess Robles, Shaya Adorador, Daps Dapol, and possibly returning MVP Mylene Paat.Chery Tiggo currently holds the fourth position in the 12-team league with a 4-2 record, placing them in a strong position to contend for the championship
