A Quezon City councilor has proposed an ordinance that provides cash rewards to individuals who give information on syndicates with illegal drug links.

Fifth District Councilor Allan Butch Francisco said establishing the Informant Incentive and Reward System for High Value and High Profile Illegal Drug Syndicates will further boost the vigorus campaign of the Duterte administration against illegal drugs.

He said the information that will be provided by the informants will be treated with confidentiality for their security.Francisco’s proposal offers a maximum cash reward of P10,000 that would hopefully entice the public to provide vital information against illegal drug syndicates.Francisco’s proposal also stated the Office of the Mayor will form an Incentives and Rewards Board composed of Mayor Joy Belmonte as chairman, Vice-Mayor Gian Sotto as Vice-Chairman.
