CEBU CITY — Cebu City Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia has increased the cash reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in the recent simultaneous robberies of two jewelry stores.
Initially set at P100,000, Garcia has doubled the reward to P200,000 to expedite the apprehension of the perpetrators.The robberies occurred on Thursday at DGC D' Gold Chain Jewelry Store and Macy Gold and Silver in Barangay Ermita. The robbers, who struck at around 11 a.m., stole an estimated P14 million worth of jewelry.Macy Gold reported losses of P10 million, while DGC D' Gold lost P4 million.
Garcia indicated that the outcome of this investigation could impact Cañete's position as the permanent head of the CCPO. He noted that Cañete's ability to deliver swift results in this case would be a determining factor in his permanency.Garcia recalled the city's support for the police, including the recent turnover of eight patrol cars and 50 firearms to the CCPO before the Palarong Pambansa 2024 and the upcoming P50 million renovations of their headquarters.
