REVENGE was the main reason given by the suspect in the killing of an Australian couple and a Filipina companion on July 10 in a hotel in Tagaytay City.

The suspect, identified only as 'Ronel,' 33, from Amadeo, Cavite, was a former employee of the hotel, Tagaytay Mayor Abraham Tolentino told Agence France-Presse .The man, who had been sacked for stealing, had fled to a nearby province. He surrendered on Tuesday night in Tuy, Batangas, and 'admitted everything,' he said.'He said this was his revenge,' Tolentino added.

'He entered the hotel through the back window. Using a knife, he aimed at those in room 103 and because the window of room 103 was open, that's what he chose to go to,' said Capagcuan. The Australian victims have been identified as David James Fisk and Lucita Barquin Cortez, while the Filipina victim was Mary Jane Cortez. Mayor Tolentino said their remains were sent home to Sydney, Australia, on Tuesday.
