The National Capital Region’s general retail price index grew by 1.9% year on year in January, slower than the 2.1% posted in December but quicker than the 1.5% in January 2021.Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. Chief Economist Michael L. Ricafort attributed the slower growth in January to “seasonal slowdown” after the holidays.
The PSA reported declines in the prices of food and crude materials, inedible except fuels which dropped to 1.8% year on year and 0.1% , respectively.
