The 21 Filipino seafarers rescued from the MV Tutor which was attacked by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea are set to arrive Monday afternoon in Manila.In a statement, the Department of Migrant Workers said the 21 Filipino seafarers were warmly received by Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Anne Jalando-on Louis on Saturday and are expected to board a flight home Sunday evening.
President Marcos ordered on Friday all concerned government agencies to bring the Filipino seafarers to safety, resulting in the successful rescue of the 21 seafarers while one remains missing aboard the vessel.All 21 of them are safe and sound, according to DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac while search operations are underway to locate the missing seafarer.
Meanwhile, also acting on the order of President Marcos to speed up repatriation, the remains of the three Filipino workers who perished in a fire that hit their apartment in al-Mangaf, Kuwait, are likewise coming home Monday.The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration posted on Facebook that its Kuwait Post will process the letter of acceptance of the next of kin and other documents to ensure smooth turnover of the remains.
