RODRIGO ‘Rigo’ Duterte II visits families affected by a fire in Barangay 5-A on Friday, August 23, and turns over assistance from the office of his father, First Congressional District Rep. Paolo ‘Pulong’ Duterte. Rigo distributed received food packs, bottled water, and water containers to families staying at the Barangay 5-A covered court while the city welfare office assessed affected residents.
Forty-year-old Cesario Cabunita, a resident, said this was the second time they have experienced a fire, the first in 2017. “We find it hard to believe that we’ve been affected by another fire. Given the high cost of living, relocating is not an option for us as we cannot afford to find a house near our source of livelihood. As of the moment, we are doing what we can do to survive,” Cabunita said in a local dialect.
