LOCAL Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla outlined on Wednesday a comprehensive agenda aimed at reforming various sectors under his department's jurisdiction. Remulla 's priorities include fast-tracking the digitalization of local government units , expanding the unified 911 emergency response system, addressing structural issues within the Philippine National Police , and ensuring safe, casualty-free elections in 2025.
This initiative is also expected to reduce corruption opportunities, enhance accountability, and improve the speed of service delivery at the local level.In line with enhancing public safety, the new DILG chief is also pushing for the nationwide implementation of the unified 911 emergency response system. Remulla emphasized the need for a centralized, efficient, quick-response emergency service that can cater to all Filipinos regardless of location.
