TUGUEGARAO CITY — The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 2 (DA-RFO2 for Cagayan Valley) recently honored 44 corn farmers during Farmers and Fishermen's Month on May 27 in SM City here.
TUGUEGARAO CITY — The Department of Agriculture Region al Field Office 2 recently honored 44 corn farmers during Farmers and Fishermen's Month on May 27 in SM City here.DA RFO2 Executive Director Rose Mary Aquino said those honored in the Corn Farmer Achievers category in the Cagayan Valley were able to harvest 10 tons of corn per hectare using hybrid seeds during the wet season.
According to the DA RFO2, there were 21 individuals from the province of Isabela, 20 from Cagayan and three from Quirino all honored as corn farmer achievers.'We aim to give importance to every farmer in the region for their great contribution to the country's maintenance and security of corn production,' Aquino said.The Cagayan Valley region is the second-highest corn producer in the country.
