Heads up, sub-compact sedan buyers. Next week will be quite busy.Following its, the Philippine market Almera is expected to gain the same styling enhancements. The most striking change is done to the front where the brand’s trademark V-motion grille made is bigger and more aggressive than before. Of course, this next-generation V-motion grille necessitated reshaping the front bumper too. The 2023 Almera also dons the new Nissan logos and refreshed alloy wheels.
Inside, the 2023 Almera replaces the two-tone black and white motif for a more subtle black and blue one. Confirmed to arrive in the Philippine market is the Nissan Connect Services. As the first vehicle locally to feature Nissan Connect Services, it allows users to view the status and control certain aspects of the car using a smartphone. In Thailand, it can even call emergency services via a dedicated button on the overhead console. Other added features that might make it to the Philippines include wireless device charging and heat reflecting seats called Quole Modure.
In terms of powertrain, the refreshed Almera is expected to continue with a carryover engine. The HRA0 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder still makes 100 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 152 Nm of torque from 2,400 to 4,000 rpm. The only change for 2023 is the addition of cruise control for the CVT. Safety-wise, if Thailand is any indication, the Almera is expected to get a bump up thanks to a full suite of 6 SRS airbags as standard as well as a couple of advanced driver assist tech such as forward collision warning with emergency braking, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert. In Thailand, the Almera also adds tire pressure sensors, lane departure warning, and high-beam assist.
