CANDELARIA, Quezon – Police Lt. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento, commander of the Area Police Command-South Luzon, said the New People's Army is moving to recover lost ground in Southern Luzon.

POLICE Lt. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento , head of the Area Police Command-South Luzon, leads the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the renewal of commitment to the Stable Internal Peace and Security in Candelaria, Quezon with Mayor George Suayan , Vice Mayor Macario Boongaling , Police Col. Ledon Monte , Quezon police director, and Lt. Col. Ferdinand Tokong , 59th Infantry Battalion commander.

Armamento, speaking during the first anniversary of the Stable Internal Peace and Security commitment of this town recently, reminded barangay officials and local government units to be more vigilant as communist rebels plan to regain barangays by recruiting students and progressive groups in the community.A memorandum of understanding was signed for the continuation of support for the SIPS which was declared in 2023.

The document was signed by Mayor George Suayan, Vice Mayor Macario Boonggaling, Armamento, Police Col. Ledon Monte, Quezon police director; Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4-A commander Police Lt. Col. Norman Rañon, 59th Infantry Battalion chief Lt. Col. Ferdinand Tokong, the 25 barangay chairmen, municipal local government operations officer Rowena Alviar, and the municipal peace and order council.

The renewal seeks to sustain programs according to guidelines of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict for the attainment of lasting peace, progress and development.
