Red-tagging an individual because they disagree with a certain opinion is not fair, presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno said Monday.
In an ambush interview in Sorsogon, the Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer said red-tagging has to be supported by intelligence data. "But if you're just red-tagging Kat... here, because she disagrees with me, that is unfair. If that meaning of red-tagging is an armed group going against the state," Moreno said. The Manila mayor said that without armed movement, believing in another type of government should be okay.
"If you believe in something, just belief, itong gobyerno na gusto ko, you are entitled to your opinion, you are entitled to your belief, then I will respect that. But it doesn't mean I agree with you," he said. "I can sit with you, I can talk to you, I can dine with you, but it doesn't mean I agree with what you believe. Di ba? Kumbaga respect begets respect. But red-tagging as an armed group, eh mali 'yun. Kailangan mapatunayan natin," he added.
