A Red Cross Office has been set up in the Confederation Court Mall in Charlottetown. In an interview with SaltWire Network later that day, Red Cross communications director Dan Bedell said the payments will be similar to a $250 to storm-affected Islanders announced last week.Dan Bedell of the Red Cross said the organization is offering relief to storm-affected Atlantic Canadians in the form of $500 cheques. The cheques are designed to be easy to access. Those who are in financial difficulty can register with the Red Cross at redcross.ca/hurricanefiona.
Individuals in need can also register at the Red Cross location at the Confederation Court Mall in Charlottetown between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The office will be open on October 8 and 10 but will be closed on Sunday for the holiday weekend.
