MANILA, Philippines – Dismissed mayor Alice Guo of Bamban, Tarlac on Monday, September 9, faced the Senate for the first time since May, after she illegally left the Philippines in July. The almost six-hour long Senate probe into the fake identity of Guo and her ties with the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators or POGOs in Central Luzon revealed little to no new information because of the evasiveness of the dismissed mayor.for “testifying falsely and evasively before this committee,” Senator Risa Hontiveros, chair of the Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality, declared on Monday.

Guo denied that she had a romantic relationship with Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Dong Calugay, who has been dragged into the POGO mess. However, Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada presented photographs of the two together to suggest otherwise.
