PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said they recorded 961 incidents from January 1 to September 30, 125 fewer that the 1,086 in the same period last year.

The PRO 13-Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division said rape cases dropped 38.4 percent from 370 in 2023 to 228 this year; robbery, 18.60 percent, from 129 to 105; motorcycle carnapping, 16.66 percent from 48 to 40, and murder, 11.20 percent, from 125 to 111. PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro attributed the accomplishment through the unified effort of field units, other law enforcement agencies, and the community.

“The decline in these crime incidents is also a result of PNP-Caraga’s sustained police operations and intensified police presence in strategic areas, particularly those with high foot traffic,” he said. “Our strong collaboration with the community and other stakeholders has also been crucial in achieving these gains.”

The eight focus crimes are murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, motor vehicle carnapping, and motorcycle carnapping.
