ILOILO CITY – The on and off rain since last week has brought back stable water supply to this city and surrounding towns following a water shortage during the dry spell.
“We are pleased to inform our customers that the water supply situation is improving.consistent supply,” said Angelo David Berba, Chief Operating Officer of Metro Pacific Iloilo Water .
Berba said continuous rains were able to fill surface water sources of Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corp., one of MPIW’s bulk water suppliers.daily supply to nearly 80 million liters per day , exceeding the usual demand of MPIW,” said Berba in a statement on Wednesday, May 29. With the El Niño climate phenomenon waning and the intermittent rains, MPIW is seeing more improvement in the water situation.
MPIW started implementing network adjustments on Wednesday to balance the increased water supply to its customers with active service connections. This brings back daily access to water supply and ends the scheduled water rationing implemented during the dry spell.
