Traffic has been building in Queensland’s south-east as drivers head to their Christmas lunches with up to 10 kilometres of delay on the M1.

4BC traffic reporter Olympia Kwitowski said the roads had been “blissful” until 10.30am brought on traffic.

“I can only describe the delays today as stop and start conditions as soon as you get on at Pine River all the way to Caboolture.
