Over 20 units of firearms, live ammunition and other weapons were surrendered to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ over the weekend, in line with the directives of Philippine National Police Chief P/Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.
CIDG Director Police Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco reported that the weapons were voluntarily surrendered by a lawyer representing a religious organization. They belonged to Cresente Chavez Canada, one of the co-accused in the child abuse case of KOJC leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. Francisco expressed his gratitude to KOJC for their cooperation and highlighted the importance of community involvement in the fight against illegal firearms. The recent operation was part of the wider “Oplan Paglalansag Omega” program of PNP-CIDG.
