Queensland’s Chief Health Officer John Gerrard says while the present wave may have peaked, people needed to remain cautious over Christmas.“Obviously this is a hectic time of the year, with large crowds due to Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties, family get-togethers, and Christmas shopping,” Gerrard said.As Queensland Health released its weekly pandemic update on Friday, which covers the seven days to Wednesday, Gerrard gave further insight into the data.
The number of reported active cases on Thursday was also down to 14,241 from a peak of 16,626 on December 13. The three previous pandemic waves now weathered by the state this year have peaked with 928, 590 and 1123 people in hospitals.Earlier this month
