The local government of Quezon City began on Monday the distribution of case investigation forms to track down possible coronavirus disease (COVID-19) carriers among 243 residents of a street in one of the city’s subdivisions, which has been placed under lockdown due to possible spread of the virus.
Residents of King Christian St. in Kingspoint Subdivision, assessed as possible COVID-19 carriers, will undergo swab testing starting Wednesday, the local government said.
“We have to enforce SCL [special concern lockdown] so as to avoid the virus from spreading to other streets,” said Alberto Kimpo, Assistant City Administrator for Operations. Dr. Rolly Cruz, head of the QC-Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the QC Health Department, disclosed that the lockdown in Kaingin Bukid, which has been imposed since June 10, will be extended to give his office more time to complete 1,000 tests in the area.
Meanwhile, out of the 573 individuals who underwent rapid diagnostic testing in the concerned portions of Ermin Garcia and Imperial Streets, which are both under lockdown since June 15, only six tested positive.
