Chery Tiggo and Petro Gazz secured crucial victories on Tuesday as the race to the semifinals heats up in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena.The Crossovers swept higher-ranked PLDT, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20, while the Angels eked out a similar straight sets triumph against Cignal, 25-13, 25-18, 25-17.With the wins, Chery Tiggo and Petro Gazz have both improved to 7-2 and forged a four-way tie at the second spot alongside Creamline and PLDT.
No player from Cignal reached the double digit mark with Vanie Gandler and Ces Molina both producing eight markers.In the second game, Chery Tiggo extended its winning streak to five since beating defending champion Creamline last March 16 in Sta. Rosa.The sister act of Eya and EJ Laure took charge with the former hammering 12 points built on nine attacks and three blocks while the latter chimed in with 10 markers and six receptions.
