Former Labor MP Michael Danby says Russia’s decision to ban oil sales to countries that impose a price cap will cause a “long-term reawakening” of the west in relying on the “authoritarian state”.
“This is good because it’ll cause countries to be less reliant on Russian oil,” Mr Danby told Sky News host James Morrow.
“Anything that causes economic pressure on them to whine down their war on the civilians of millions of people living in the cold and dark in Ukraine is good.”
