A puppy in General City suffered third-degree burns after it went back into a burning house for a four-year-old child who was left inside after the family fled the fire.

According to the "24 Oras" report of Abbey Caballero of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the incident happened on Friday morning in Barangay Calumpang.

"Princess", the four-year-old Belgian malinois, barked and barked as if to tell the family they left the little daughter inside the house. “Kung tao yung aso, siguro masabi niya talaga na ang anak mo nasa loob pa,” said Jayson Biato, a neighbor of the family. The daughter was rescued but Princess suffered burns.

“With that type of burn, hindi madali o matagal yung treatment at recovery. She is currently undergoing laser therapy para madaling mag-dry ang sugat niya at the same time mag-regenerate ang cells niya,” Dr. Jacquiline Madi said.
