In an advisory issued Saturday, DOH said a false article about a cure for hypertension has been making rounds on social media.
“DOH clarifies that the said post is not in any way or form approved, affiliated, or recommended by the [department] and its attached agencies,” it stressed. The article, which was posted on a fake website posing to be a verified media network, claims that a Filipino expert has found a way to “get rid of blood pressure problems” in just 14 days.
To counter the disinformation, DOH reminded the public that non-communicable diseases and comorbidities such as hypertension can be prevented by practicing healthy habits such as proper diet and exercise.“Source information only from legitimate sources and platforms,” it added.
