Police cited the vigilance of the public in the solution of crimes that occurred in Antipolo City the past few days.

Police Lt. Col. June Paolo Abrazado, Antipolo police chief, told Manila Bulletin that the cooperation of the victim and the prompt response of the witnesses resulted in the arrest of five robbers who pulled a heist on Feb. 2.

The victim sought the help of several bystanders who in turn sought the assistance of an off-duty policeman, leading to the apprehension of one of the two suspects. Earlier this week, four suspects in a passenger jeep robbery were arrested after receiving information from concerned citizens. Several robbery victims went to the police station and positively identified them as the same persons who held them up at knife-point while riding the vehicle along Marcos Highway in the early morning of Feb. 2.
