The government is committed to propel the country into an upper middle-income country by promoting pro-poor policies, good governance, and infrastructure development, President Duterte declared recently.

“I am determined to see our policies support the poor. We enacted the Free Tertiary Education and Universal Healthcare to give our people safety nets for the basic means to lead a life of dignity,” he said. “We have initiated a comprehensive tax reform program. We are strengthening domestic policies to promote ease of doing business and competitiveness,” he added.
Under Executive Order No. 66 signed by the President, government agencies have been directed to implement the national strategy on drug prevention and control that includes the implementation of a “drug-free workplace programs” and “authorized drug testing.”
