The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns upset the defending conference champion University of Victoria Vikes 98-94 in the men’s basketball Canada West openers for both teams Friday night in southern Alberta.
Meanwhile, the Pronghorns edged the Vikes 72-71 in the women’s game played in Lethbridge. Ashlyn Day led UVic with 28 points in the Canada West opener for both teams.The Vikes open at home next weekend against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen at CARSA Gymnasium.
