Cpl. Nancy Saggar says the level of violence is “concerning” and police are asking the public to report suspicious activity involving youth right away
West Shore RCMP are investigating a robbery and assault Wednesday afternoon near Belmont Secondary School.
The incident is the latest in an increasing number of calls related to youth violence in the last month, said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, adding it’s been a challenge for police to get witnesses and victims to provide information or to report the crimes immediately. Then on Oct. 28, one youth was stabbed and another was assaulted on the Galloping Goose Trail near West Shore Town Centre, after an altercation involving a group of youths. Two youths were also arrested in the latter incident. The RCMP are also asking a man to come forward and speak to police after what they called “suspicious and concerning behaviour” at a View Royal bus stop, on Craigflower Road near Aral Road, on Tuesday evening.
