Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai sedang berjuang untuk mendapatkan slot penampilan sulung ke temasya sukan terbesar dunia itu, apatah lagi kali terakhir pasangan ini berjaya meraih gelaran juara adalah lima tahun lalu di Terbuka Singapura 2018.

PETALING JAYA: Daripada 15 orang atlet yang tersenarai dalam program Road to Gold , nama pasangan beregu campuran profesional, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai antara yang tidak disangka diserap masuk ke dalam projek pemburuan pingat emas negara di Sukan Olimpik Paris tahun hadapan.

Jelas Shevon yang bergerak sebagai profesional pada 2021, penyerapan ke dalam program itu akan memberikan manfaat khususnya kepada pemain profesional sekaligus mencerahkan peluang untuk menyaksikan dua wakil negara dalam setiap acara badminton seperti yang disasarkan Persatuan Badminton Malaysia “Apabila berada dalam program, mereka boleh tampung untuk itu kerana boleh dapatkan khidmat daripada ISN, perkara-perkara seperti itu tetapi sukar untuk saya gambarkan secara terperinci kerana saya perlu berbincang dengan jurulatih dan rakan sepasukan yang mengenai apa yang kami semua mahukan dan perlukan. Jadi ini merupakan isu yang paling mencabar untuk kami,” jelas Shevon.
