BACOLOD City - The Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 has identified the four police officers who were killed in an ambush allegedly staged by New People’s Army (NPA) at Sitio Yamot, Brgy. Mabato, Ayungon, Negros Oriental Thursday, July 18.

A report from Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, PRO-7 director, said the four intelligence operatives were approaching the house of their “contact” on board two motorcycles around 2:30 p.m., to verify reports about the alleged presence of NPA in the area when they were reportedly ambushed by several armed men.The bodies of the slain police officers were retrieved in the area around 7:30 p.m. after the clearing operations.
