DAVAO CITY – Police Regional Office-11 (Davao) chief Brig. Gen. Aligre Martinez and 12 others were relieved from their posts days after a controversial standoff between lawmen and supporters of Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy here.

DAVAO CITY – Police Regional Office-11 chief Brig. Gen. Aligre Martinez and 12 others were relieved from their posts days after a controversial standoff between lawmen and supporters of Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy here.PRO-11 spokesperson Police Major Catherine dela Rey said that an order for the discharge of Martinez, who assumed the post last April 26 after Police Brig. Gen. Alden Delvo retired, is already in effect.

She said the 12 policemen were re-assigned to Calabarzon region or the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon region. According to the Special Order No. NHQ-SO-URA-2024-5340 issued by the PNP, the immediate re-assignment of the 12 personnel from the Davao region to the Calabarzon region reflects the ongoing administrative adjustments within the PNP.

Dela Rey said they have yet to be informed of the reasons behind the removal of Martinez and others. She added that the order followed a statement from Quiboloy’s camp alleging that authorities attacked several KOJC compounds with “unnecessary and excessive force” which the PNP has denied.
