The oil spill has so far damaged P445.33-million worth of fishing gear and produce, resulting in a P441.25-million profit loss for some 26,000 fisherfolk.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said his administration will give priority attention to the problems that cropped up during the oil spill crisis in Mindoro Oriental, such as the source of potable water for local communities and people's livelihood. “Asahan po ninyo na ang national government, nandito po kaming lahat upang alalayan ang sitwasyon ninyo dito ," he said.Marcos arrived in Pola on Saturday morning to inspect the oil spill's damage and ensure that the government rehabilitation efforts are continuing and benefiting the local population.
