Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Fergie are still refusing to leave Royal Lodge amid reports the residence is in need of urgent repairs the Yorks cannot afford.

The 30-room estate in Windsor Great Park is one of the most luxurious properties owned by the Crown and was previously home to the Queen Mother.

Prince Andrew was stripped of his titles and positions by Queen Elizabeth II after settling a sexual abuse civil case with his accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre. The Yorks are allegedly worried to leave the Royal Lodge while it is renovated out of fear they may not be able to move back into the home when the works are complete.

"But he is adamant that, as he has so many years left to run on his lease and he spent millions from his own fortune doing up the place, that he is not going to leave his home. He feels very strongly, perhaps with some justification, that they are moving the goalposts suddenly and it is hugely unfair,” the source said.

UK ‘shocked’ at Prince Harry’s court case against Mirror Group NewspapersUK ‘shocked’ at Prince Harry’s court case against Mirror Group NewspapersWriter and broadcaster Esther Krakue says the UK’s reaction to Prince Harry’s court case against the Mirror Group newspapers is shocked. “He actually missed the first day of the trial because he was celebrating his daughter Lilibet’s second birthday, and the judge was very not amused by that because he felt it was just not the proper thing to do,” Ms Krakue told Sky News Reporter Danica De Giorgio. “People are shocked mainly because of the fact that he could actually be on the stand and say that he’s actually there to find out whether a lot of these stories were as a result of phone hacking when he’s brought the case saying that ‘you have engaged in phone hacking and unlawful conduct’. “I think there’s a certain level of delusion that I suspect was what drove Prince Harry to do this and the other people suing the MGN Group.”
