The government will not shirk its duty to fight for human rights and will prevent any “runaway crime” in the country, President Duterte declared Monday.The President affirmed his commitment on protecting human rights and keeping the country’s peace and order even as he renewed his kill threat against those involved in the illegal drug trade.
“Our achievements along these lines have been extolled by an overwhelming number of our fellow member-States in the UN Human Rights Council, during its recently held 44th session last June,” he added. Duterte said he will be the “enemy” of criminals if they continue harming people. He told them to look for another job instead of committing crimes.
