WITH just days left before yearend, Congress should give an update on the priority legislation mentioned by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. six months ago during his first State of the Nation Address. The public was expecting the legislative branch to be churning out those priorities more quickly than usual. After all, the President's political allies have a super majority in both houses of Congress.Instead of the 19 priority measures Mr.
Utmost priorityEarlier in July, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, the President's cousin, vowed to give the priority bills 'utmost priority.' In a statement issued then, he said at least eight of the 19 measures could be expedited through internal mechanisms at the House of Representatives.
