PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for securing another term after his coalition party won more than half of parliamentary seats in the just concluded elections.
'My warmest congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi for securing a fresh mandate from the Indian electorate,' Marcos said in a statement posted on his official account on X.'The last decade has shown India as a sincere friend to the Philippines & I look forward to the further strengthening of our bilateral and regional partnership in the years ahead,' he said.
Modi claimed election victory for his party and its allies on June 4, but the opposition said they had 'punished' the ruling party to confound predictions and reduce their parliamentary majority.
