Canada’s premiers have accepted the federal government’s new federal funding for health care that was offered on Feb. 7 during meetings between Ottawa and the provincial and territorial leaders, but say they are disappointed with the amount. Houston said after the provincial cabinet meeting Thursday morning that money already targeted at long-term care already is paying off, with 1,000 people registering for CCA training under a program that provides free books and tuition, and increased pay has retained and attracted people to the sector.
