The former head of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting said the proposal to postpone the May 2020 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls may discourage some voter applicants to register.

The Commission on Elections earlier set the registration period from August 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019.

“Comelec and PPCRV will just have to go the extra mile of encouraging voters to register. Maging makulit,” De Villa, former Philippine Ambassador to the Vatican, said. “Filipino voters are known for always postponing registration to the last few days nearest to elections,” said De Villa.
