Filipinos in Rome mark the beginning of Simbang Gabi, celebrated by Pope Francis himself

"Salvation is offered to all, but the Lord manifests a special tenderness to and for the most vulnerable, the most fragile, the poorest of His people," said the Pope. Pope Francis made special mention of people who left their motherlands to find a better life, saying they had a"special mission."
